If you want to make your wedding photos extra special, a marquee tent wedding could give you the ideal setting and atmosphere for your wedding day.

The easiest way to find a tent hire company is to start of with a directory like www.tentsandtenthire.co.za. You could also go directly to well known companies like Tent Works or www.bestertents.co.za

When you want to rent a tent, make 100% sure that you rent the correct tent for your specific needs. One of the first criteria is the surface on which the tent will stand. If the tent is going to stand on a solid service like paving, tiles or tar, then there is only two options. The first option is frame tent hire and the second is moroccan tent hire. Both these options is a lot more expensive than normal peg and pole marquee hire.

You also need to work out what size of marquee you need to rent. You can roughly work on about 1.7 square meters per person seated on a round table. You also need to allocate space for a dance floor and if you need a space for catering, you need to put that in the equation.

The most popular tent sizes for weddings is the 15 x 15 meter tent for weddings up to about 130 people. If you move to 160 people, the 15 x 24 meter is an excellent size to go for.

I do not use flash 80% of the time (unless you are getting married at night); I create stunning images using the latest technology - Nikon camera's combined with fast lenses with extremely low apertures. This allows me to shoot with as much ambient light as possible in most of the stages of the wedding producing softly lit images rather than harsh flash-lit images. I do at times add off camera flash and I also use reflectors to reflect natural light onto the subject. This way I get far better and intended results. Additionally, I make use of a specially designed imported wedding light from the US. This allows me to photograph couples with stunning colourful backgrounds long after the sun has set that not many other artificial lighting apparatuses will allow.

I am also obsessed with travelling...so if you're planning a local or destination wedding - I would love to be your photographer!
